| Archery Competition - Nov. 10th & 11th |
|
2013 dates and details have not been finalized. See 2012 info below for an idea of what may come. Archery, as an organized competition, dates back to the first known competition held at Finsbury, England in 1583. Tournaments were sponsored, with prizes for winners, among other ways of encouraging archery. There was therefore much motivation and incentive to become an expert with the longbow and the competitions allowed for various English kings to be able to recruit thousands of archers per year!! The Carolina Renaissance Festival continues this tradition by inviting experienced archers to compete on both Saturday, November 10th and Sunday, November 11th in Archery competition. The competition will be held inside the Renaissance Festival at The Haven which is located to the left of the Joust Arena from 12pm - 3pm on both days. Each day is a separate competition.
*Restrictions and regulations may change as interest in the competition increases over time. All archers must complete a release of liability waiver prior to the start of the competition. Pre-registration has ended. You may register at the competition. Please plan to arrive a half hour prior to competition start time.
